**Due to visa restrictions, Fernando Barba is not permitted to perform in concert. He is permitted only to teach and lecture.

Fernando Barba is multi-instrumentalist and composer, and the founder and music director of Barbatuques, Brazilian body percussion ensemble. Since adolescence Barba was moved to transform the body into a musical instrument, and from 1995 has been researching, performing and teaching his original methodology in body percussion. With Barbatuques he produced two CDs, Corpo do Som (Body of Sound) (2002) and O Seguinte é Esse (2005), and a DVD, Body of Sound - Live (2008). Barba has performed and recorded with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Keith Terry, Badi Assad, Chico Cesar and Camille, among many others, and has performed and taught throughout Brazil, Europe, USA, South America, Asia and Africa. In 2010 he and Nucleo Barbatuques co-produced the 3rd International Body Music Festival in São Paulo, Brazil.
